So… I ended up watching kabaddi highlights last night by complete accident (YouTube autoplay, thanks?) — and honestly, it was way more intense than I expected :) Never thought a sport with no ball and people yelling their lungs out could be that entertaining. Anyone else here into it? Or is it one of those things that only makes sense in context? If you‘re curious, here‘s a good overview of the rules: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kabaddi |

Haha welcome to the club, mate! I had the exact same experience like six months ago. Thought it was a joke sport at first but once you get the strategy behind raiding and the team defense stuff, it’s actually brilliant. I even got hooked on the Pro Kabaddi League. The energy, the crowd, even the player intros — it’s like a mix of sport and theatre. |

Yeah man, it’s oddly dramatic. I saw this one raid where a guy just dodged four defenders and got back like it was a Mission Impossible scene :D
I’m kinda surprised it hasn’t caught on more globally. Think it’s just the lack of exposure or maybe it’s too "regional" for most people? |
